Levocetirizine dihydrochloride is the active R-enantiomer of cetirizine and a potent, selective second-generation H1-antihistamine used to treat allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Its enantiopure form provides effective symptom control at half the dose of racemic cetirizine with a low incidence of sedation.
