Rac-4-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)-N-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-amine

The racemic amine intermediate formed by reductive amination of the dichlorophenyl-tetralone. It is resolved to the desired (1S,4S) enantiomer and salified to produce Sertraline HCl, the final antidepressant API.
