5-Amino-3-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine-2-carbonitrile

A trifluoromethyl-pyridine intermediate used in the multi-step synthesis of Apalutamide, a nonsteroidal androgen receptor inhibitor used in prostate cancer treatment. The aminopyridine-carbonitrile core is later converted to the isothiocyanate used to build apalutamide’s thiohydantoin core.
